We design dedicated cinemas, media rooms and living-room cinema systems: projection or large-format displays, surround and immersive audio, acoustic coordination, seating positions, lighting scenes, automated shading, equipment racks, ventilation and the control system, considered together as one room design rather than as a list of equipment.

Where the systems are compatible, agreed control of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and underfloor heating can be integrated, including temperature zones and arrival and departure modes. Environmental systems must remain technically safe, appropriately controlled and maintainable, so integration is confirmed system by system rather than assumed. Our own mechanical practice designs residential VRV and VRF systems, which helps the two designs meet properly.

Yes. We review, upgrade and extend existing systems, including installations originally completed by other companies. Tell us the platform, if known, and the main issue, unreliability, an ageing interface, rooms that were never finished, or a system nobody can support, and we will advise on the sensible options, which do not always involve starting again.

As early as possible, ideally while the architectural and interior design is still developing. Cabling, containment, equipment space, keypad positions and coordination with lighting, joinery and ceilings are far simpler and less costly to resolve on drawings than on site. That said, we also join projects that are already under construction and design within what remains possible.

Yes; it is how we prefer to work. We coordinate equipment locations, reflected ceiling plans, keypad and touchscreen positions, speaker and television locations, curtain pockets and finishes with the design team, and we treat the architectural and interior-design intent as a constraint to protect rather than a problem to work around.

Yes. Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables include smart-home and audiovisual layouts, lighting-control and shading layouts, speaker and screen locations, equipment-rack layouts, data and Wi-Fi layouts, cabling schedules, containment and power requirements, keypad schedules and AutoCAD drawings, with Revit coordination where the wider project uses it.

Yes; that is the point. Speakers can be in-ceiling, in-wall or concealed behind finishes; televisions can be integrated into joinery or hidden when not in use; keypads and touchscreens are selected, positioned and aligned with the interior design; and equipment lives in a properly ventilated rack out of sight, not in a cupboard of tangled cables.

Core functions: lighting, shading, climate control, run on the local system and continue to work. Internet-dependent services such as streaming and remote access resume when the connection returns. We cannot guarantee third-party connectivity, which is exactly why the home network is designed as carefully as everything else, with resilience appropriate to the property.

Yes, where agreed. Optional support and maintenance can include system health checks, software updates, programming changes, user assistance, network checks, remote support and planned maintenance, together with documentation and handover to property staff where relevant. Support arrangements are agreed around each property rather than sold as a fixed package.
